QUILTS

"I like working with color and different textures and beautiful fabrics; I like how they feel. I get calm when I quilt, which slows me down. It centers me. When I quilt, I can have my hand focused on what I'm doing, and my eyes, but I can be thinking about other things. It's a type of meditation, really."

"Echo quilting is very peaceful. It radiates out from the pattern design; you take the pattern and you echo it off the quilt. It's like when you throw a pebble in water and it ripples out. One little action can touch infinity because of the rippling effect."
